The partnership includes Melanin Origins donating 25% of the proceeds from their latest book, Breaking The Sickle: A Snippet of The Life of Dr. Yvette Fay Francis-McBarnette to SCDANT.
The late Dr. Francis-McBarnette was a pioneer in treating patients battling sickle cell anemia. The work that she did helped prolong lives and improve the quality of life for patients around the world. Former President Nixon created policies and initiatives that greatly impacted the nation due to the groundbreaking work of Dr. Francis-McBarnette.
Sickle Cell Disease Association of North Texas is a 501(c)3 organization committed to providing meaningful support for persons living with sickle cell conditions, as well as promoting awareness in the community.
