Prairie View A&M 75, Sam Houston State 65 | BOX SCORE
PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Three Prairie View A&M players posted double-digit outputs to lead a 75-65 victory over Sam Houston State Saturday at the William J. Nicks Building.
Jeronia Allen led a trio of seniors with a season high of 23 points to lead all scorers, along with seven rebounds, six assists and two steals. Alexus Parker captured her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Tori Carter added 15 points and a season high of eight assists to the Lady Panthers win.
The Lady Panthers (4-4) came out on fire, taking an early lead and went into the second quarter with a seven-point lead (20-13).
With two minutes knocked off the clock Prairie View A&M a jumper by Parker and a three-pointer by Talisha Presley pushed the score to a 12 25-13) the largest lead of the quarter. The Bearkats (0-8) tried to gain some momentum as they chipped the point spread to five (35-30) going into halftime.
PVAMU shot 43.8 percent from the field and out-rebounded Sam Houston 44-39, and forced 24 turnovers to PV’s 12.
As a team Prairie View A&M had a season high of 20 assists to go along with a season high of 11 steals and three blocks.

Samford 61, Alabama A&M 37 | BOX SCORE
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Alabama A&M women’s basketball team fell 61-37 to Samford Saturday afternoon at Pete Hanna Stadium in Birmingham in non-conference action. A&M falls 2-5 overall.
Freshman Jameica Cobb led AAMU with 12 points while securing four rebounds. Senior Josta Totten contributed nine points making 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Junior Hilary Williams added eight points, four rebounds, and three assists while Senior Ebony Johnson chipped in six rebounds and four points.
In the closely matched first period, Josta Totten three-pointer cut an early Samford lead to 6-4. With 2:13 left in the opening period, Cobb’s jumper tied the game at 6-6. Back-to-Back buckets from Cobb allowed A&M to take their first lead of the game. At the end of the first period, the Lady Bulldogs led 10-6.
Samford came out hot in the third period and retook control, starting the third on a 12-2 run and later stretching the advantage to as many as 26 at 49-23. In the fourth, Samford never let A&M get any closer than 11 points. A&M was held to just 21 percent in the fourth period in field goal shooting. Samford continued to extend their lead, securing the 61-37 victory lead over A&M.

South Dakota State 103. Arkansas Pine Bluff 45 | BOX SCORE
BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State handed the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff a 103-45 loss, here Saturday night at Frost Arena.
UAPB (0-6) was led by Niya Head with 12 points and seven rebounds, followed by Malaik Muhammad with nine and Destiny Brewton with six.
SDSU (6-1) had four players to score in double-figures with Madison Guebert scoring a game-high 26 points. Kerri Young pumped in 17, followed by Clarissa Ober with 12 and Macy Miller with 10. Megan Bultsma led the Jack Rabbits on the boards with nine, while Young dished out a game-high seven assists.
UAPB trailed SDSU 65-18 at the half.
