Area artists have an unusual new outlet for their creativity thanks to the staff at the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council. We are pleased to announce the launch of our First Annual “CHAIR-ity for Children’s Art Auction” which offers uniquely decorated Adirondack chairs for bid during an online silent auction that will culminate with the closing silent auction Wine & Beer Tasting event on September 20th.
The staff at the Arts Council is working to expand children’s programs; and developed this auction event as a way to keep these new camps and workshops affordable. Executive Director, Belinda Cook stated, “We see this as a win for everyone! It encourages community pride and it showcases our talented local artists & business sponsors while providing much-needed support for the arts! We want to continue to offer these programs at an affordable cost and need the community’s help.”
Local artists have completed the fourteen hand painted chairs that will be on display at sponsor locations throughout Queen Anne’s County thru September 15th; when the online portion of our auction closes. The chairs will ultimately be sold to the highest bidder at the final silent auction on September 20th.
The final silent auction event will be held at the Centre for the Arts on September 20, 2014 from 5-7 pm where the chairs will be sold to the highest bidders. Join us for a Wine & Beer Tasting featuring Crow Vineyards and Eastern Shore Brewing. Lite fare will be served and the Van Williamson Band will provide entertainment.
