This week’s entrepreneur Catrina Friday puts it all on the line for the greater good and for the love of the arts!

The soft-spoken, beautiful woman opened Play Hookah Room, a hookah bar in the Charles Village area located at 4 W. 21st Street with the hope of one day opening a restaurant as well. Hookahs are water pipes used to smoke specially made tobacco that comes in different flavors, such as apple, mint, cherry, chocolate and many more.

“After working at Eden’s Lounge and meeting so many great people, I wanted a place that was just chill and laid back. I looked around and found a location in Charles Village and just fell in love with area. I am going to be here for awhile and I am not going anywhere [else],” Friday said.

Friday’s want Play Hookah Room to be a place where independent artists and promoters can perform while maintaining an intimate, classy vibe. One such event held there every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. is “SoulFlow Live” put on by Mia Jones. The event features a very diverse group of local talent and special guests who come in and just do their thing!

“One of the hardest things was having to do everything myself. I’m not complaining but when you work for yourself, you are your own boss. I love what I do and having great talent and events here at the Play Hookah Room,” added Friday.

Friday is also interested in hosting other events and networking with the community especially in the Charles Village area. For more information about Play Hookah Room, contact Catrina Friday at 443-540-6882 or on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Playhookahroom
