On October 25, 2014 at the Downtown Cultural Art Center located at 401 N. Howard Street in Baltimore will host an opportunity to learn more about the vegan life style. It’s not a hippie thing, but a healthy way of living. Some famous people are vegans: KRS-One, The Roots, Chuck D of Public Enemy, Erykah Badu and Russell Simmons. Vegans don’t eat or use animal products. They are not to be confused with vegetarians, who by definition cut meat and some animal products from their diets.
The event is being sponsored by The Land of Kush, the vegetarian and vegan restaurant that was just recently in the news for having Stevie Wonder as a patron when he was in town for a meal.
According to Naijha Wright, “This is an education about the culture of becoming of vegan. Understanding what that means and even experiencing the food and learning the health benefits.”
This will be the first ever festival of its kind here in Baltimore. The event features cooking lessons, seminars with health care professionals, diet tips and even yoga. Stay tuned for updates on the live entertainment. We will keep you posted. In the meantime check the website: www.vegansoulfest.com. This event is for the entire family. You don’t want to miss this!
