— Competing against hundreds of contestant hopefuls from across Maryland and DC, ANDREW CARPENTER of Windsor Mill, MD, sang his way to become the new LIVE! STAR at Maryland Live! Casino during the finale of the Live! Stars singing competition at Rams Head Center Stage. As the Grand Prize winner, Carpenter receives $10,000 Cash, 16 hours of free studio recording time at the legendary Wright Way Studios of Baltimore, and the title of LIVE! STAR.

With a riveting performance of the Etta James classic, “At Last,” Carpenter’s enthusiastic response and applause from the audience was enough to push him to the winning position over Lashawn Forbes of Great Mills, MD, who took home second place with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” To advance to the Finale, Carpenter and Forbes beat out hundreds of other contestant hopefuls from across the region during preliminary competitions held over the past 10 weeks at Rams Head Center Stage at Maryland Live! Casino. Forbes receives $5,000 Cash and eight (8) hours of free studio recording time at Wright Way Studios.

All Live! Stars competitions were judged and metered by audience enthusiasm and applause.
