An Update From The (B) Baltimore (M) Musuem (A) Art On COVID-19 And Public Programs

As the situation surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus) evolves in the region, we recognize the need to take preventative measures in order to ensure the safety of our visitors, our staff, and our volunteers.

So, it’s with a heavy heart that we are canceling this weekend’s celebratory events surrounding the opening of 2020 Vision in the Contemporary Wing and Candice Breitz: Too Long, Didn’t Read. However, because we want to celebrate the extraordinary work of these women artists, we are hoping to reschedule both events in June.

We are canceling the Members Opening Party on Saturday, March 14, as well as the 2020 Vision Community Day on Sunday, March 15.

As the well-being of the people within the walls of our Museum is of the utmost importance to us, we are also canceling or postponing all public programs scheduled between March 13 and April 12. The Museum remains open to the public during regular hours, and Candice Breitz: Too Long, Didn’t Read will still open this weekend.

A Message from the BMA About COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The safety and well-being of our visitors and staff is always the highest priority of The Baltimore Museum of Art, and we are committed to responding as quickly as possible to guidance surrounding COVID-19, or coronavirus. We are following the recommendations provided by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Maryland, and the City of Baltimore.

At this time, the BMA and our satellite location at Lexington Market remain open for regular hours, and we’ve taken steps to help ensure guests have a safe and comfortable experience when visiting. Public areas are cleaned regularly, but you might notice our staff performing extra cleanings in high-touch areas like the bathrooms and the visitor services desks. We are placing additional hand sanitizing stations throughout the Museum as well.
