The Walters Art Museum exists for the benefit of the public. The health and well-being of our visitors, staff, and volunteers is at the forefront of our thinking. In alignment with public health guidance related to mitigating the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the museum is cancelling all programs and tours from March 12 through April 12.
The museum is open during regular hours. We continue to:
Increase the number of hand sanitizing stations available at all entrances and Visitor Services desks
Take extra cleaning measures throughout the museum
Display CDC handwashing guidelines in all of our bathrooms.
The Walters Art Museum cares deeply about our community. As part of our Visitor Promise, we maintain the museum as a free, welcoming, and accessible environment to all people. We continue to stay closely attuned to new developments and will keep you updated through our website and social media.
If you have any questions, please contact Visitor Services.

ABOUT Mission & Vision
The mission of the Walters Art Museum is to bring art and people together for enjoyment, discovery, and learning.
We create a place where people of every background can be touched by art. We engage and strengthen our community by collecting, preserving, and interpreting art.
In November 2015, the Walters Board of Trustees approved a Strategic Plan for the museum. Since then, it has been the guiding force for initiatives and programs. It outlines a shared vision of the Walters as a transformative force in the community and in the museum field. We invite you to read more about this vision for the Walters in our Strategic Plan.
