Anne Arundel County, MD. — In today’s world, there is a growing need for higher education. Despite growing educational needs in society, some people will not have access to proper education. Some may believe the ability to read is expected of everyone, but some people cannot learn how to due to a lack of education. Some community adults are left without functional literacy.
To combat this, the Anne Arundel County Literacy Council supplies adults wanting to increase their literacy with trained volunteer tutors. Tutoring is individualized to work at the pace of each student, allowing learning to be flexible and encouraging for students.
