outhwestern Athletic Conference women’s golf champion, Texas Southern and individual medalist Chanelle Avaricio of Alabama State will find out where they will be competing in the NCAA women’s golf championships, with the selection show set to take place on Thursday.

Texas Southern advances to the NCAA championship after winning its first SWAC women’s golf title in program history last week in Alexandria, La. The Tigers finished with a team score of 636 to finish atop the leaderboard of SWAC women’s golf.

Avaricio will represent the SWAC at the women’s golf championships as an individual, after capturing low medalist honors for the third consecutive year, by firing a two-dat total of 11 under-par (66-67-133).

18 teams and six individuals will compete at each of the four NCAA regional sites. Six teams and three individuals will advance from each regional site to the finals. There, 24 teams and 12 individuals will compete for the NCAA title. The regional round of competition will be held from May 8-10.

The NCAA women’s golf championship selection show can be seen on Thursday, April 27 at 11 a.m. CT on the Golf Channel
