BALTIMORE — Baltimore’s popular tea house ‘Teavolve’ is partnering with community leader and activist, Kwame Rose to collect hats, gloves, and socks for the students at the Renaissance Academy.
The owner of Teavolve, Sunnie Gillian and Kwame Rose, who leads the BE Foundation, decided to combine their efforts to help students in Baltimore City by collecting needed winter items for students who may not have those simple items we sometimes overlook.
The idea is to take advantage of Teavolve’s popularity and steady flow of customers who come to the popular café and lounge and offer a free cup of coffee with any donation of gloves, hats, and socks. The three-week campaign is called, “Stay Warm On Us” and young community leader“ Kwame Rose says, “the idea is to keep the donation request simple with the hopes of getting great participation during the holidays.”
WHEN: The “Stay Warm On Us” campaign will run from December 20, 2016 – January 5, 2017.
WHERE: Items can be dropped off at the Teavolve Café and Lounge in exchange for a free cup of coffee, at 1401 Aliceanna St. Baltimore, MD.
WHAT: Request for winter hats, gloves and socks for middle school age children, ages 11-16.
