The Annapolis Shakespeare Company will perform six shows of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” during weekends from July 8 to 17 — with a few twists.

Instead of following the show’s traditional setting, ASC’s version will take place at the gardens of the Charles Carroll House, 107 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis. Some of the slight changes the show will undergo to match the shift in time period include giving the fairies a nautical theme, a nod to the maritime roots of Annapolis, and using the Carroll House as the home of Theseus, the Duke of Athens in the play. Shows are July 8, 9, and 10, then again July 15, 16 and 17. Gates open at 6:30 pm with the performance starting at 7:30 pm.
