— Trailing the Thunder 3-1 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, outfielder Mike Yastrzemski came through with 3-RBI triple to spark a Baysox come-from-behind 5-3 win Friday evening. The win is the Baysox sixth this season when trailing after seven innings.

Baysox starter Joe Gunkel saw a streak of 17.1 scoreless innings come to an end in his third start for Bowie. He finished the night throwing seven innings and allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four in the no decision. Reliever Kenn Kasparek pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the Baysox and Andrew Triggs earned his fourth save of the season in the ninth inning.

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jonathan Schoop began an MLB Rehab Assignment for the Baysox Friday night. In his first game in the field since April, he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.

The Baysox got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning against Trenton starter Brady Lail. Rossmel Perez started the two-out rally with a single to center field and Trey Mancini followed with an RBI double to center field that made the score 1-0.

Gunkel was perfect through four innings, but that ended as Trenton tied the game 1-1 in the fifth inning. Aaron Judge hit a lead-off double down the left field line and moved to third base on a Mike Payton bunt single to third base. With one out, Taylor Dugas brought Judge home with a single to right field to tie the game.

The first lead of the game for the Thunder came in the top of the seventh inning. Judge hit a one-out single to left field and Payton followed with a home run to right-center field to give Trenton a 3-1 lead.

Bowie came storming back in the bottom of the eighth inning against Trenton reliever Johnny Barbato. Ozzie Martinez and Perez hit back-to-back singles and Mancini then walked to load the bases. Yastrzemski cleared the bases with a triple to center field and Cesar Vargas then replaced Barbato on the mound. Glynn Davis singled to right field to plate Yastrzemski and give the Baysox a 5-3 lead.

Barbato pitched to four batters in the bottom of the eighth inning, failing to retire any of them as he took the loss for Trenton.

Orioles RHP Miguel Gonzalez is scheduled to start in Bowie Saturday on a MLB Rehab Assignment. First pitch in that game is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. and there will be fireworks after the game. Saturday is also Negro League Tribute Night and the Princess Party where fans are invited to dress up as their favorite priness.
