— This month, CharmTV will celebrate its one-year anniversary with the launch of the second seasons of its original programs My Town and Tasty Travels. Each show will premiere its first episode of the season in June with a new episode airing monthly. My Town premieres on Wednesday, June 24 at 8:30 p.m. with a special presentation on Sandtown. Tasty Travels premieres on Thursday, June 25 at 8:30 p.m. and features some of Charm City’s sweetest treats.

“When we launched CharmTV, we wanted to provide programming that captured the true essence of Baltimore by handing over the storytelling to those who give this city its character – the residents, neighborhoods, restaurants, and businesses of our great city. Now, one year later, we believe that CharmTV is quickly emerging as THE destination for video about Baltimore,” said Tonia Lee, General Manager of CharmTV. “We hope this second season will continue to show the wonderful things Baltimore has to offer but also show our viewers a side of Baltimore they may not have seen before.”

My Town is a part of the “History and Heritage” programming of CharmTV and highlights Baltimore communities through a historical narrative and interviews to bring these neighborhoods to life. In addition, each episode features resident interviews candidly discussing what it is like to live and/or work in their neighborhood and what they love about Baltimore. In this season’s first episode, “Sandtown: The Path Forward,” a neighborhood with historical significance to Baltimore, My Town shows how even in adversity hope can be seen and how the community is coming together to be part of the solution.

Tasty Travels, part of the “Citylicious” programming of CharmTV, is hosted by Kate Beck, a Baltimore “foodpreneur”, and uncovers some of the best food the city has to offer and shows viewers why the city is becoming one of the top food cities in the country. In its first episode, “Sweet Treats,” Kate visits one of Baltimore’s most well-known dessert spots, Charm City Cakes, to visit with Duff Goldman. But, she also uncovers some hidden gems that offer a unique twist on familiar treats – locally-sourced ingredients at The Charmery and mega-sized Mallow Crunchies from the Mallow Bar.

CharmTV programming airs on Comcast Channel 25 in Baltimore City and on CharmTV.tv. In addition to airing live government meetings, CharmTV offers primetime programming beginning at 8 pm. Episodes of My Town and Tasty Travels are also available on CharmTV.tv the same day the episodes premiere. Government meetings are available on demand on the CharmTV Citizens’ Hub on YouTube.
