— The Baysox managed just four hits in a 1-0 loss to Trenton Thursday that took 13 innings and three and a half hours to resolve. Despite winning two of three games in the series, the Baysox offense managed just six runs and 14 hits in three quiet games.

As advertised, the game pitting the top prospects in the Yankees and Orioles organizations against each other was a pitching duel as Baysox starter Dylan Bundy tossed four scoreless innings and Trenton starter Luis Severino threw five hitless innings.

The Thunder scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the 13th inning against Baysox reliever Mychal Givens. Cito Culver drew a lead-off walk and moved to third base on a Jake Cave single to right field before scoring on an Aaron Judge one-out sacrifice fly to win the game 1-0.

The Baysox used four pitchers, with reliever Gene Escat following Bundy with four scoreless innings as he allowed four hits and struck out three. Lefty Ashur Tolliver threw 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out one. Givens was the last pitcher to appear for the Baysox, throwing two innings and allowing a run on one hit and two walks.

Trenton’s pitching staff tossed 13 scoreless innings with reliever Matt Wotherspoon picking up the win. He threw three innings and allowed two hits while walking three and striking out three.

The Baysox open a four-game road series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels tomorrow. LHP Tim Berry (0-3, 7.43) will be making the start for the Baysox and he will be opposed by LHP Kelvin Marte (3-0, 2.60).
