— Are you strong enough to pull a truck as part of a five-person team? How fast can you put together a customer’s order and get it ready for shipment? And, what’s the best way to load a truck for several deliveries?

Anne Arundel Community College students, faculty and staff, high school students and members of the community are invited to pit their strength and expertise against others in a series of events at the 4th Annual AACC Truck Pull from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 23, in Parking Lot C of the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. In addition, guest speakers from the local transportation industry will discuss jobs and careers. All the events are free.

In the Truck Pull, participants in teams of five pull an empty delivery truck over a course of approximately 90 feet with a rope. All teams are timed. Prizes are awarded in the student category for the first- and second-place finishers with the fastest times.

The Supply Chain Relay lets participants compete in a relay moving a client’s order through the supply chain. Participants also will move in relays to load a truck using a logistical scientific process. And, participants can play the Passport Game by moving through booths staffed by representatives of local industries, trade associations and education departments to learn about academic and career pathways for the transportation, logistics and supply chain industries.
