Gotham: Comic books have become big business and FOX now throws its hat in the ring with the show Gotham, one of the most anticipated shows on the schedule. Gotham traces the rise of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told before. Starring Ben McKenzie (“Southland,” “The O.C.”), Jada Pinkett Smith (“Hawthorne,” “Collateral”) and Donal Logue (“Vikings,” “Sons of Anarchy”), Gotham follows one cop, destined for greatness, as he navigates a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil chronicling the birth of one of the most popular superheroes of our time. Gotham premieres Monday, September 22, 2014.
Empire: From Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels (The Butler) and Emmy Award winner Danny Strong, comes Empire, a sexy and powerful new drama about the head of a music empire whose three sons and ex-wife are all doing battle for his throne. Empire joins the schedule in 2015 on FOX. It’s a shame that we have to wait until after football season to catch this show because it looks like it will be a keeper for FOX! Two Academy Award nominees Taraji Henson and Terrence Howard are among the stars of Empire. This is going to be something special!
Backstrom: Created by Hart Hanson (Bones), who is also the executive producer of the offbeat crime show with a comedic spin, Backstrom. The show centers on Detective Everett Backstrom, played by three-time Emmy Award nominee Rainn Wilson,(“The Office,” “Six Feet Under”), an unhealthy, offensive, irascible— albeit brilliant— detective who is brought back from exile to run the Portland Police Bureau’s Special Crimes Unit. Backstrom joins the schedule in 2015 on FOX. The show also stars Dennis Haysbert as Detective Sergeant John Almond and Page Kennedy as Officer Frank Moto.
