Marcelle Y. Lee, an instructional specialist in Anne Arundel Community College’s CyberCenter, became one of only 4,000 people in the world to earn a Global Information Assurance Certification (GCIA) as a Certified Intrusion Analyst, and she plans to use that knowledge to enhance AACC’s already advanced cyber training programs.
Lee not only teaches at AACC’s CyberCenter, but she also develops curriculum to keep AACC’s courses technically up-to-date to prepare students for cyber threats now and in the future. She says the skills she learned in studying for the certification are relevant to developing additional network forensics curriculum that AACC offers to businesses and government agencies.
Lee, a resident of Severna Park, has bachelor’s degrees from University of Maryland, University of London and University of Maryland University College. She began her cybersecurity and digital forensics training at AACC where she was part of the 2012 team that won first place in the international U.S. Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) Digital Forensics Challenge in the Community College Division.
