The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Central Maryland Chapter (www.afceacmd.org), recently donated $25,000 in scholarship aid to the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation.

AFCEA is a nonprofit membership association dedicated to providing an ethical, interactive forum for sharing knowledge and building relationships across government, military, industry and academia. Its most recent gift doubled the amount of the endowed scholarship the group had previously established at AACC. AFCEA Central Maryland is a growing and dynamic, nonprofit organization for information technology-professionals that focuses primarily on enabling the intelligence missions of today and tomorrow through education and investment in talented people. The organization accomplishes its goal by promoting the continuing education of current IT professionals, and supporting the education of future leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Each year, the Central Maryland Chapter commits to awarding scholarships and educational grants. This year, the chapter plans to award more than $350,000 to local students and local schools in the Central Maryland Region (Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Hartford and Howard counties and Baltimore City). The Central Maryland Chapter represents a membership of over 1,700 government, military and industry professionals.
