Happy holidays to you my dear friends. My goodness gracious! This has been a hell-la-va year. Some good, and some not so good, but the positive thing is if you are reading me now, you are above ground and that is a good thing. I know many of us have lost loved ones this year. I lost a dear brother and many friends, but at the same time, I was blessed to be able to publish a book that people seem to love. Also, the Rosa Pryor Music Scholarship Fund was able to give five children scholarships this year, thanks to you. I want to thank each one of you for supporting my columns as well as thanking Joy Bramble and the Baltimore Times for allowing me to communicate with you through words and pictures to keep you informed on what is going on in our community entertainment world. I believe that one of the best holidays of the year is Christmas, because people seem to be happier, more giving and festive than any other time of the year. I like that.
There are lots of social events going on this time of the year. I am going to share them with you.
Bilal Ali Productions presents a night of smooth jazz and R&B featuring national recording artist, Eddie Bacuss, Jr., Vivian Owens, Duget Ron and others at the Gordon Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, December 21 with the famous radio talk show host of WEAA 88.9 FM, Anthony McCartney as master of ceremony. The show starts at 8 p.m. It is requested that everyone bring hats, scarves & gloves for children and the proceeds will benefit “Operation Keep the Homeless Warm” during the winter.
