— Dozens of enthusiastic Baltimore Colts fans gathered around County Executive Kevin Kamenetz on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at a ceremony as he unveiled the road sign for “Lenny Moore Way,” the honorary new name for Resource Drive in Randallstown.

“What an honor it is for me to stand beside Lenny Moore, one of the greatest players to ever wear a Baltimore Colts uniform, and demonstrate with this honorary road sign just how much Baltimore County loves and respects him as a former player and as a steadfast friend to Randallstown and the entire Baltimore County community,” said County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

Former Baltimore Colt and Hall of Fame player Lenny Moore started as an All American halfback from Penn State University. Highlights of his career include earning Rookie of the Year honors in 1956, participation in seven Pro Bowls and two NFL championships.

Resource Drive in Randallstown— now also known as Lenny Moore Way— is the entrance road that leads from Liberty Road to the Baltimore County complex housing the Randallstown Community Center, the Liberty Senior Center and other County offices.

“We thought that this would be the perfect spot to dedicate to Lenny Moore because it is a place where people young and old gather to enjoy sports, fitness and good fellowship— all of which have been central themes throughout Mr. Moore’s career and lifetime,” said Fourth District Councilman Ken Oliver.
