— The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization has donated two Ford vans to the VA Maryland Health Care System for its transportation network, which serves veterans who need a ride to and from their homes for clinic appointments. The vans— Ford Flex vehicles— are worth more than $50,434; one will be used at the Baltimore VA Medical Center and the other is assigned to the new Fort Meade Outpatient Clinic.

DAV partners with Ford Motors in a program that allows the organization to purchase the vehicles at a reduced rate for this purpose. During the past five years, DAV has donated a total of eight vehicles to the VA Maryland Health Care System. The DAV delivered the vans to VA Maryland Heath Care System representatives on Thursday, September 19, 2013.
