On Friday, September 13, 2013, St. Luke United Methodist Church will host “An Evening of Dinner, Live Entertainment & Dancing,” featuring the Dottie Tim Organ Trio Cathy Dorsey as vocalist, Major Boyd on saxophone and Jesse Moody on drums. For an extra treat, “Rambling Rose” will be doing a book signing with her new book, “African-American Community, History and Entertainment in Maryland, (1940-1980).” It will be held at the Wesley Freedom Community Center, 961 Jones-ville Road in Eldersburg, Maryland from 6-9 p.m. Evening attire is required. The Poets Athletic Club, Inc. will host their “Annual Deluxe Oyster & Bull Roast” on Saturday, September 14, from 4-8 p.m. at the Club, 918 East North

Avenue. The Poets know how to throw a party. There will be four hours of free draft beer and soda; beef; fresh ham; oysters; oyster stew; Buffalo wings; barbequed pork ribs; shrimp Creole; hot dogs and baked beans; mashed potatoes and gravy; string beans; potato salad; salads; and desserts. Folks! Get ready for an old fashioned cabaret.
