— It wasn’t that long ago that Sister Sledge sang “We Are Family” while the O’Jays crooned there’s nothing like a “Family Reunion.” Now, Visit Baltimore is embracing the joy of family when it hosts The First Annual Baltimore Family Reunion Expo on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in conjunction with greiBO Entertainment.

The event will allow the city to highlight its rich culture and history while showcasing the city’s top-notch hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions. By simplifying the planning for families, the Expo will show reunion organizers how to take the stress out of planning so they can enjoy worry-free family time knowing their relatives are in expert hands.

The event will be held at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park, 1417 Thames Street in Baltimore City. It’s expected to welcome more than 1,500 reunion planners. There will be a Kid’s Zone, workshops, family reunion resources, genealogists to help trace family heritage, catering samples, line dancing, and much more. The event

will be hosted by Bern Nadette Stanis (“Thelma” from “Good Times”) and Clifton Davis (“That’s My Momma” and “Amen”). There will be a special musical performance by Chico DeBarge and the popular children’s group Milkshake will also be performing.

This is also a great opportunity for those who want to market their services to those considering hosting family reunions in our great city of Baltimore. Sponsorship and exhibitor space is available.

The Baltimore Family Reunion Expo will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from noon to 8 p.m. Admission is $5.
