Baltimore School for the Arts announces new board chair

— The Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA) has announced that Marjorie Rodgers Cheshire was elected Chair of the Board of Overseers at the school’s annual meeting on Wednesday, June 5, 2013.

Rodgers Cheshire previously served as the Vice Chair and Nominating Chair of the Board of Overseers. She has been involved with the school for over a decade and has been serving on the board since 2005.

Rodgers Cheshire is President and Chief Operating Officer of A&R Companies, a real estate development, construction and management organization focused on the Baltimore and Washington markets. The company’s portfolio includes residential, commercial and mixed-use properties.

Prior to joining A&R Companies, Rodgers Cheshire served as the Senior Director of Brand and Consumer Marketing for the National Football League. She has held positions with Oxygen Media as the Vice President of Business Development and ESPN as the Director and Special Assistant to the president/CEO. She also worked as a Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and as a Marketing Assistant for Nestle Foods.

Rodgers Cheshire attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business. She then went on to receive an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

In addition to BSA, she is also involved with the Baltimore Equity Society, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Centerstage. Additionally, Rodgers Cheshire is the Director of the PNC Greater BaltimoreAdvisory Board.
