Comptroller Franchot presents award to Seeds 4 Success

— Comptroller Franchot presented the William Donald Schaefer Award at the Eastport Community Center on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 to Seeds 4 Success founders and staff for their dedication to improving the lives of children growing up in public housing.

Members of the Eastport Girls Club, a program of Seeds 4 Success which provides after-school tutoring and mentoring for middle school girls were also on hand for the ceremony The Comptroller created the award to honor the legacy of public service exemplified by former Governor, Comptroller and Baltimore City Mayor William Donald Schaefer.

One winner was selected in each of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions and Comptroller Franchot will present the awards to the winning individuals or organizations this spring and summer.
