— The Be Org (Be.) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit youth development organization dedicated to serving the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. The organization’s mission is to encourage and nurture youth to live above their socially-imposed limitations; to develop their character, talents, and leadership skills, allowing them to go beyond a dream and achieve remarkable excellence.

By increasing exposure to various career opportunities, promoting secondary education at earlier ages, and engaging in leadership skills development, youth will set and aspire to achieve their dream career goals, focus on long-term planning, and be better equipped to withstand negative societal influences that would otherwise inhibit their progress. The Beyond a Dream Youth Conference will do just that.

The Conference will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 on the campus of our host sponsor, Goucher College in Towson, MD. The event will bring together youth ages 13-18 and parents from across the state of Maryland for a one day college prep, career exploration, and hands on skills engagement for careers in STEM, health professions, creative arts and communication, and finance. Parents will be able to engage in the conference through sessions on college planning, financial planning, and communicating with teens.

The event is widely supported by local businesses, state, and federal government agencies, community organizations, and the Goucher College Community. Students can expect to build drones with Global Air Media, practice nursing assessments with a Registered Nurse from the MedStar Health Group, create an art light show with Future Makers, and prepare for the college admission process with the Goucher College staff.
