Camp Airways is a week long day camp (August 4-8) held at Woods Memorial Church in Severna Park designed for children ages 6-12 with asthma.
Campers will participate in a range of activities including asthma and nutrition education, arts and crafts, swimming and other outdoor activities. The goal of the camp is to teach children with asthma how to live with and manage their condition, as well as provide opportunities to interact with other children with asthma.
Junior counselors are also needed to help with everyday activities. Junior counselors must be at least 15 years of age and available to attend camp from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Responsibilities include serving as a mentor or “camp buddy” for two assigned campers and assisting campers with daily activities including arts and crafts, asthma education, swimming and other outdoor activities.
All counselors must provide their own transportation to and from camp each day. Registration is required for campers and counselors.
