— The Maryland Historical Society recruited experienced stitchers and volunteers to recreate the 30×42 foot Star Spangled Banner flag during the same six-week period that orignal flagmaker Mary Pickersgill did 200 years ago.

A procession featuring the recreated Star-Spangled Banner will take place from the Annapolis City Dock to the steps of the State House on Maryland Day, Tuesday, March 25, 2014. The recreated Star-Spangled Banner will be unfurled for the first time at the State House at 12:30 p.m..
