Creative Alliance, located at 3134 Eastern Avenue in Baltimore put on an art showcase to display the works of its residents on Saturday February 22, 2014, The Creative Alliance Residency Program provides a highly visible, intense and creative environment for the production of artwork in all media. The program accommodates 8 resident artists, one in each of the studios, for terms of one to three years. This program is not just for artists, but also for musicians, writers, and videographers.

The showcase provided an opportunity for people in the community to see really great work from the resident artists. Featured were Francisco Loza, who is self taught and known for his Yarn Art; Alessandra Torres, whose work explores movement— his performances, installations and photographs have been exhibited both nationally and internationally; and Christopher Kojzar, who works in film and television and is currently working on the crew of Bravo. His visual medium includes drawing, digital media, film, and performance. Using stop animation techniques, he creates visual narratives on glass.

Now that these resident artists will be moving on from the program, there are spots to fill.

“ For anyone involved in the arts, this is a great place to come, where you can concentrate on what you love to do,” said Katie Pumphrey, a resident artist featured at the exhibition.
