Happy New Year to you, my dear friend; Man, this is 2014 and I hope this year will be better for you than last year. I would like to share this little poem with you that was sent to me. It is by an unknown author, but it fits for the old year going out and the New Year coming in. The words are so true.
Another year has passed
And we’re all a little older.
Last summer felt hotter
And winter seems much colder.
There was a time not long ago
When life was quite a blast,
Now I fully understand
About Living in the Past
We used to go to weddings,
Football games and lunches,
Now we go to funeral homes
And after-funeral brunches,
We used to have hangovers,
From parties that were gay.
Now we suffer body aches
And will the night away.
We used to go out dining,
And couldn’t get our fill,
Now we ask for doggie bags,
Come home and take a pill.
We used to go to nightclubs
And drink a little booze
Now we stay home at night
And watch the evening news.
That my friend is how life is,
And now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live
it up before you’re too damned old!
So far the year is beginning very nice, at least in the entertainment world. The Arena Players is jumping off with a good start with laughter. It seems that comedy is back on January 4 at 8 p.m. with six wonderful comedians featuring: Richard Whack; Mike Brooks; Henry Jones; Ray Diva; and Big Shortay, who will be the host on Saturday. I am not sure if food will be available, but I do know they will have a cash bar. Check it out. For more information, call 443-814-8147. The Arena Players will also host an evening of jazz featuring Marci and the smooth sounds of “Paradise” on Sunday, January 5 from 5-9 p.m. I think you might enjoy this too. The Arena is located at 801 McCulloh Street. They will have a light fare and cash bar. ENJOY!

I know one thing; many people are retiring from their jobs this year. One of those people who is in the nightlife and clubbing scene is Carlos Hutchins, night club promoter, )at least he told me so). But, I don’t believe him. This man loves to work. I do know that he has already retired from being a project manager for the Housing Assistance Corporation as their executive director a few years ago. Maybe he means that he is cutting back from his mortgage business or as a referee for little children’s football team, or the children baseball team, or maybe as a nightclub and entertainment promoter. Well Carlos, whatever it may be Congrats!
Now, I am out of space my dear friends, just remember, If you need me, call me at 410-833-9474 or email me at rosapryor@aol.com. UNTIL THE NEXT TIME, I’M MUSICALLY YOURS.
