Mt. Calvary holds 30th annual Fall Gospel Concert

— Mount Calvary United Methodist Church hosted its 30th Fall Gospel Concert on the afternoon of Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the church in Arnold, Maryland.

The benefit concert for the Men and Women’s Day programs featured local gospel artists including, The Mitchellvillettes, DiVine of Annapolis, The Zionettes and The Mighty Men of Baltimore. The gospel groups performed for a packed house.

The program was put together under the direction of Leon Porter, a lifelong member of the church.

Rev. Dr. Reginald Tarpley and the first lady of the church Debbie Tarpely were on hand to lend their support for the fall concert.

Rena Marvin, a lay leader in the church, said the concert has been going on for the past thirty years and gets bigger every year.

The concert lasted several hours and filled the church to capacity with members rejoicing with every performance.
